Fifth Graders at Plum Cove looked at the work of Austrian Symbolist painter, Gustav Klimt. They studied his ornate and heavily decorated paintings and what influenced his work. One of Klimt's more popular works of art is titled "The Tree of Life." The painting symbolizes Heaven, Earth and the Underworld and was painted by Klimt after the death of his father and brother. Students used gold and silver paint to create swirling branches and layered their designs with shapes, form, lines and color using oil pastels, and of course, Glitter! Each work is original to its awesome artist!
